SUNFLOWERS The sunflower is an amazing creation of nature. Besides its obvious visual beauty, it has many other qualities. When planted, it can clean up the environment, and was used to remove harmful nuclear debris after disasters such as Chernobyl and the Fukushima Daiichi. It has been worshiped by the Aztecs, painted by famous artists such as Van Gogh, admired by Peter the Great, studied by mathematicians for its Fibonacci Sequence, and analyzed by psychologists for its dream symbolism of warmth, abundance, and prosperity. Perhaps the most intriguing fact about the sunflower is that it possesses a phenomenon known as heliotropism. It tracks the movement of the sun! It is this phenomenon that reminds us of the important work that we do. Striving each day to keep those around us in the light, and even when times are difficult, we follow the sun. |
"Follow, follow the sun and which way the wind blows when this day is done.
Breathe, breathe in the air. Set your intentions. Dream with care. Tomorrow is a new day for everyone, brand new moon, brand new sun. So follow, follow the sun, the direction of the birds, the direction of love. Breathe, breathe in the air, cherish this moment, cherish this breath. Tomorrow is a new day for everyone, so follow, follow the sun."
